Holiday Bucket List | Madison Edition

We asked our team for ideas – and while there is SO much to do in the Madison area, these are our favorites! We would love to hear some of yours as well!

  1. Go Ice Skating at The Edgewater
  2. Visit Santa at the DreamBank
  3. Stop by Jensen Trees or one of the tree farms in our roundup!
  4. Check out Fantasy in Lights at Olin Park
  5. Run a Race (Run Santa Run or Turkey Trot are ideas!) 
  6. Go Sledding at Garner Park
  7. Put on Jammies and Drive Around to Look at Christmas Lights (don’t forget the popcorn!) 
  8. Ride the Downtown Trolley
  9. Go to Zoo Lights 
  10. Check out the Holiday Lego Train Exhibit at Olbrich
  11. Make Holiday Cards for our troops
  12. Visit the Reindeers at Bruce Company
  13. Write a Letter to Santa and drop it off by Macy’s (Hilldale)
  14. Go to a Tree Lighting in your town
  15. Go see the Madison Capitals
  16. Kids in the Rotunda
  17. Volunteer. The River Food Pantry, the Middleton Outreach Ministry or the Humane Society would be good places to start.
  18. Take your kids to Madison Ballet’s The Nutcracker
  19. Decorate a Gingerbread House
  20. Bake (lots of) Cookies while listening to holiday music!
  21. Winter Festival on the Square
  22. Donate toys to make room for new ones (get your kids excited about this)
  23. Badgers Basketball Game (both men & women are very fun to watch!) 
  24. Go Christmas Caroling in your neighborhood
  25. Ring the Bell for the Salvation Army!
  26. Drive by the lights on all 228 arborvitae trees on University Avenue!
