2017 New Year’s Eve Celebrations for Families in the Madison Area

The holidays are coming to a close and it’s time to ring in 2018! If you are going to be ringing it in with your kids, and want to get out of the house – we have a few ideas of ways to celebrate here in Madison!

My Family New Year’s Eve

Family New Years Eve is geared toward kids of all ages, and will take place at Monona Terrace, KEVA Sports Center, Madison Ice Arena, and Hartmeyer Ice Arena. This year’s event will include a magic show, puppet show, Circus train rides, face painting, bounce houses, music, crafts, balloon drop and so much more!

Noon Year’s Eve

Pump It Up – Fitchburg

Jump into the New Year with a massive balloon drop! This event includes bouncing fun for the kids along with 2 Slices of Pizza, Beverage, and party hats and noise makers for all the kids! Additional slices of pizza can be purchased at $1 per slice. Admission price:$12.00/child Online ticket sales end at 2 hrs before event. 


New Year’s Eve Crafts
1:30pm-3:00pm
Fitchburg Public Library

Drop in anytime from 1:30 and 3:00 pm to ring in the new year with some fun crafts. For children ages 2-5 and their families. Registration is not required. Parents are encouraged to stop in at different times.


New Years Eve Dance Party

Madison Children’s Museum – Madison

Are your little ones not quite ready to stay up until midnight?

Shake, rattle, roll and bid farewell to 2017 at our New Year’s Eve afternoon dance party, complete with glow bracelets, sparkling juice and a confetti-filled early New Year countdown at 4 p.m.

Prairie Athletic Club AND Sun Prairie Ice Arena – Sun Prairie

Prairie Athletic Club will feature: DJ, Large inflatables, Games, Face Painter, Caricaturist, Zoo-Zort Animal display, Photo Booth, Swimming, Racquetball, Basketball.

The Sun Prairie Ice Arena will feature: Open skate & Cake walk.


Zoo Lights
5:30pm-9pm
Henry Vilas Zoo – Madison

See the zoo in a whole new light! This holiday season, your Henry Vilas Zoo will shine brighter than ever as we bring Zoo Lights to Madison! Enjoy a warm beverage as you take a stroll down candy cane lane and enjoy the festive sights and sounds. Thousands of lights will transform the zoo into a winter wonderland that’s not to be missed.

Olbrich Botanical Gardens – Madison

Large-scale model trains wind through an enchanted land of colorful poinsettias and holiday trees.


New Years Eve Annual Walk

UW Arboretum – Madison

The annual naturalist-led holiday outing, a cup of hot chocolate, and a peaceful welcome to 2018. Meet at the Visitor Center, which will be open during this time.
