In Madison, we run. It’s just what we do.
The local running community is absolutely vibrant. It’s chock full of motivated, inspiring people, each of them with a unique and powerful story.
And the best thing about this community? It’s 100% all-inclusive. All ages, all abilities, all people. Anyone and everyone is welcome out on the road.
Then there’s racing. The experience of training for and running a road race is something that changes lives, and in our opinion, it’s something everyone should try at least once.
So take a look at the list below, pick a race, grab a friend, and GO FOR IT! Or: start marking your calendar for next year.
Another awesome thing you’ve probably noticed about Madison: we’re family friendly. LOTS of local races offer kids’ races, which are an absolute blast for the little ones. Keep an eye out for a ** in the list below to find races that include a kids’ race!
If you’ve been thinking about running a half marathon, we highly recommend checking out the Madison Mini Marathon. This iconic race, ranked #14 Best Half Marathon in the country by Runner’s World, features many of our favorite sights: the University of Wisconsin campus, State Street, the capital, the Arboretum, and beautiful views of the lakes. (Check out the complete route!) Participants enjoy an amazing 14th Mile Post-Race Party (which includes a free beer, naturally) at one of our local treasures, the Memorial Union Terrace.
The Mini is a must-do on the Madison running calendar, and with the race date of August 20, it’s the perfect time to start planning your training!
Register here, and when you do, use code MBLOG for 10% off before June 14.
Once you’ve picked your race(s), it’s time to get plugged into the community! Endurance House is a great place to start. Endurance House is a redefined retail experience for endurance enthusiasts.
