Madison Moms Blog is made up of a team of over 50 moms from around the area, including 8 community group leaders, an Event Team of 15 and 30 writers, but our Executive Team is the driving force behind events, sponsorships, resources, tweets, status updates, amazing content, and all things that make Madison Moms Blog the resource that it is!
Meet The Madison Moms Blog Executive Team
We are passionate about our community and our jobs, but more than anything, about our families. We would love to hear from you and will answer emails Monday through Friday, but will focus on family time on the weekends. If you reach out over the weekend, we’ll be happy to ping you back on Monday – Thanks!
Alisa, Owner & Co-Founder
Alisa was born and raised in Iowa before attending Arizona State University. She then lived in Chicago, Georgia and Florida before settling in Madison. From her nomadic lifestyle grew a love for the beach, as well as a fondness for spicy food, sushi, white wine, southern charm, Diamondbacks baseball and idyllic ocean sunsets. Alisa and her husband, Joe, are parents to Ava Mae (August 2012) and twins, Nora & Jacob (March 2014). Alisa is a work-from-home mompreneur with a passion for business, fashion, fitness, community and all things mom. When she’s not enjoying time at home with her family, you can find her sweating it out on the tennis court, training for the next big race, pinning her heart out on Pinterest and exploring Madison with her little ones (and sweet Boston Terrier, Peaches) in tow.
Ann Marie, Event Manager
Ann Marie is a Minnesota transplant who got sidetracked in Iowa, (where she met her hubby, Kai) and landed in Madison where they decided to set their roots. Enter Aston (furbaby) in 2010, and Vera (real baby) on Mother’s Day 2015. Ann Marie is a proud momtrepreneur who has her own event planning and marketing business, Rêve, where she coordinates everything from weddings to runway shows. When not knee deep in bouquets and timelines, Ann Marie can be found exploring the world with an over-the-weight-limit suitcase. A self proclaimed reality tv addict, Ann Marie has an affinity for red wine and soy lattes, but will accept the black coffee and white wine with very little convincing.
Kim, Project Manager
Kim grew up in Minnesota, but moved to Madison to attend the UW and fell in love with the city’s spirit and culture. Kim is married to a handsome dude named Brent and has two handsome little boys, Mason and Joshua. When she’s not racing monster trucks across furniture or reading dinosaur books, she’s working on freelance writing projects or planning events for Madison Momshine, a local health and fitness community for moms. Kim is a certified personal trainer and teaches strength training classes for women through her fitness business, Lioness Fitness. She’s also a food allergy mom, which means she can read a food label like nobody’s business! Kim’s a sucker for good wine, good sushi, a good book, and ANY beach.
Jessica, Managing Editor/Community Outreach
Jessica is a work-at-home mom of three. She has been married for over 10 years to someone who makes her laugh every day and reminds her not to take herself too seriously. She grew up in northern Wisconsin but has called the Madison area home since college. She holds a degree in Social Welfare from UW-Madison and hopes to someday put it to good use. She spends her days trying to decide what she wants to be when she grows up while balancing life with three kids. She can be found reading cookbooks but not cooking, saying yes to more volunteer work than she has time for (and loving it), on a Netflix binge, or with her nose in a book.
Betsy, Sponsorship Coordinator
Betsy is a mom to two sassy, spunky and spirited kiddos and wife to an adventurous, soccer-loving Chemist named Noah. She is originally from the Chicago suburbs but has bounced around the world with her husband before landing (hopefully permanently!) in Madison. Her first child, Jackson, was born in Germany during their two years living abroad. Betsy loves exploring new cities, donuts (any kind, anywhere) and being a stay at home mom. She is currently in school with plans to become an Occupational Therapist.
Tara, Small Events Manager
Tara is mom to two energetic daughters Bianca and Iyla and wife to amazing husband Deepak. Passionate about inspiring others to cook healthy, delicious and allergy-friendly food, she teaches healthy cooking classes for both kids and parents at Whole Foods Market. She shares her recipes, kid-friendly restaurant reviews and healthy lunchbox ideas on her website yummysprout.com. Tara has been featured in the Wisconsin State Journal, on WISC-TV and NBC15 on topics including homemade baby food, cooking with kids, packing healthy lunches and allergy-friendly food. She adores living in Madison and all it has to offer family life. Her favorite ways to spend time include messing up her kitchen while recipe testing, running, yoga, writing, painting, traveling and reading books with her girls.
Katie, Creative Coordinator
Katie was born and raised in Madison before attending college at UW Whitewater where she received her degree in Graphic Arts and Multimedia Design. She met her husband, Logan, in college and they now go by Mom and Dad to a very spunky little girl named Ellis and a laid back little man named Lennon. Katie works as a Multimedia Specialist at an American clothing retailer, blogs at What’s Up With The Buells, and runs her own small freelance design business. She loves (and strives) to be active almost every single day, bakes when stressed, and likes to rope her husband into all of her crazy DIY projects – usually against his will. She has a love for all things old/vintage/one-of-a-kind, long walks in old neighborhoods, days at the lake, cake decorating, thrift shopping, and iced coffee with her best friends.
Jessica, Sponsorship Manager
Jessica is a marketing maven by day, a wedding planner by night, and a mama to twins ALL the time! Soon after Shoshanna (the girl twin) and Braxton (the boy twin) made their debut in June 2015, Jess and her husband, Steve, packed up their life in Chicago to head “north of the wall” to be closer to Grandma in Madison. If Jess gets a moment, she loves awards shows of all kinds, a great cup of coffee or glass of red wine, painting the trim in her Fitchburg home (a seemingly endless project), dance parties and pretending to garden now that she has a yard. Her favorite activity, by far, is spending time with her little fam.
