Core Energy Massage {Giveaway}

CoreEnergyMassage_2Before my first child was born I thought I was all prepared for what my body would need to go through. I knew pregnancy and labor would be difficult, but I assumed that this would be the hardest part. I had no idea how much a car seat could weigh, how distorted my body would become as I learned to nurse, or the toll bouncing a crying baby would have. Not to mention the permanent place my shoulders took below my ears while I battled the stress of caring for a newborn!

While I no longer have any babies in the house, parenting three children has proved to be physically demanding. I could win a gold medal for carrying the most bags of groceries into the house at the same time, I shop at Costco with a two-year-old on my hip, I climb the play structures at the playground, and my shoulders have yet to migrate from the bottom of my ears.

I began to realize that my aches, pains and stress could all be decreased by taking the time to get a massage. I had enjoyed massages years ago but nothing in a regular basis. I was determined to carve out the time and start going more often. There are many massage therapists in the Madison area and I chose Core Energy Massage  to help get my body and mind back on track.

Opened in April of 2013 by Trevin Gay, Core Energy Massage was created with a focus on providing relaxation and stress relief to those with an active lifestyle. One thing I really love about getting my work done with Trevin is that each session is customized and designed to fit my needs. He takes the time to listen to what I’m feeling and needing every time I go in. He understands the need to be listened to physically, mentally and spiritually.

Trevin uses various techniques, such as Swedish massage, myofascial release, deep tissue, and sport to fully customize each session. A heated table provides a sense of comfort even before the massage starts. Essential oils are used to appeal the sense of smell and hot stones ease out all remaining tension in your body. I feel like I’m floating every time I leave!

I have noticed a difference in my body since getting regular massages and my family benefits, too. It works wonders as a stress reliever and I feel a sense of well-being long after the massage is done. Now when I feel those shoulders creeping back up, I know just what to do.

    Thanks for the article Jessica! I am thrilled our sessions are causing a difference in how you carry yourself and your many duties. I look forward to helping others relieve the tension that comes from executing one of the most important jobs in the world, bein’ a MOM!

    Great article, Jessica! I, too, have had a massage from Trevin–I hired him to offer my staff chair massages last year for Teacher Appreciation Week–and he was fabulous! My shoulders also sit snug with my ears and massage is the only (realistic) way to release that tension. Trevin was skilled in finding out what I needed and executing it. Two thumbs up for Core Energy Massage!!

    It is true that we spend so much time focusing on our bodies while pregnant … I’ve found the post-pregnancy time to be the hardest on my body!
